It is a sad truth that many of the citizen representatives that have been elected to the U.S. Senate and House of Representatives, as well as many State Legislatures, in recent decades have sought those positions for personal gain or to advance some political agenda; neither of which are in the best interests of the people who elected them. The few that do go to seats of government with the intention of complying with their oath of office are met with a corrupted political machine that is in so many cases so entrenched that the honorable representatives are unable to get anything done or are themselves corrupted by "the system" once they get there. Too many of our elected citizen representatives have forgotten, if they ever learned, that their reason for being elected to Congress or their state legislature is to defend the freedoms of the People and sovereignty of the several States.

      To make matters even worse, once the elections are over, the People go back to living their lives and pay little attention to what their elected representatives are doing in their name until the next election cycle. In too many cases, the People keep electing bad representatives over and over again, which only serves to create career politicians who become so engrossed in getting re-elected that they no longer constitutionally do the People's business.
